The Petite Salt Inhaler fits nicely in the palm of your hand and is perfect for travel because it is only 5 inches long and weighs about 4 oz.
It is designed for only one person to use.
Living Libations Salt Inhaler powerfully purifies with salt and essential oils. The salt particles combined with essential oil molecules bathe and fortify the breath. It is a super-simple way to add some warm verve to your vents and some verdancy to your vibe.
This simple tool is a breeze to use. To add essential oils, remove the plug at the bottom of the inhaler, insert three to ten drops of essential oil into the base, and re-seal the plug. Hold the pipe to the mouth, inhale deeply, and exhale through the nose. You can also practice alternate nostril breathing, holding the inhaler to each nostril and inhaling deeply while exhaling through the other nostril (Nadi Shodhana Pranayama). Repeat for up to twenty minutes. Since the inhaler is placed directly on the nose and mouth, it's important that inhalers are not shared.
How much salt should I add to my inhaler? Your inhaler will come with a single bag of Himalayan Pink Salt. Add the entire contents of the bag to your inhaler.
How often does the salt need to be replaced? The salt never needs to be replaced as long as the pipe is kept dry. Himalayan Pink Salt naturally stays clean and fresh. Yet, every few years it can be nice to start with a fresh batch of salt, easily found in bulk at any health store. The essential oils need to be refreshed as their aroma begins to fade.
Which essential oils should be added to the salt inhaler? Frankincense, Black Spruce, Immune Illume, Peppermint, Rosemary and all of the fir oils are great choices for the inhaler because they support the clarity of the body and mind. Other elegant choices include: Ylang, Rose Otto, Cape Chamomile, Roman Chamomile, Neroli, Bergamot, Lemon, Lavender and Marjoram. Try Sweet Sleep Serum before bed. Bergamot and Frankincense are cheery and fortifying for any worry. You can also feel free to play around with oils like Sage and Lemon to lift the spirits and enhance focus. Revive Alive, Frankincense First Friend, Illume Classic Camphorous, Feeling Good Today, Laurel Oracle and Bedtime Story Blend are also lovely options.
How much oil should be added to the inhaler? Start with a minimum of five drops and keep testing to see what strength you prefer. We've found a sweet spot at 10 drops of oil, yet it truly is a matter of personal preference and the oils that are being inhaled.
How do I add essential oils to the inhaler? At the bottom of the inhaler, you'll see a small opening (it looks similar to the opening on the bottom of a piggy bank). The oils can be added to this opening.
How long should I use the inhaler? The most beneficial amount of time to use the inhaler is for a period of 5 to 10 minutes straight, where every one to two breaths are filtered through the inhaler. You can use the inhaler every day.
Why is this better/different than a Neti pot? Neti pots require a lot of preparation, can be messy to use and may be irritating to some people. Salt inhalers are a different experience and more meditative, they are also mess-free, easy to use, quick to set-up and great for travel. We recommend bringing the salt inhaler along for car, train and air travel.
I used to be a smoker. I know ... how could I?! But yes, for many years I puffed away. Fortunately I made massive changes to my lifestyle when I was 21 years old and stopped smoking. Believe it or not, it was whilst living in Milan that prompted me to stop ... sitting in an office all day long with 10 people non-stop smoking and no windows open was enough to make me sick of the smell. So ... here I am doing all I can to repair the damage I did when I was younger as I'm a big believer that the body can repair itself, and that cells can let go of old memories if given the invitation to do so. Hence why I love this Salt Inhaler so much. I add a couple of drops of essential oils to super charge the experience and whenever I remember I inhale away for 5 - 10 minutes, especially when I get home after air travel.
