Pearl Powder has been recorded for nearly 3000 years in skin treatments prized by royalty in Egypt and China. Cleopatra, the last Queen of Egypt and Wu Zetian, the only woman in Chinese history to ever attain the title of Empress, were famed for their use of Pearl Powder to maintain and achieve their youthful, beautiful skin.

Highly-revered during the ancient times, modern science has confirmed what the ancient medics have proven to be true – that pearl powder promotes the regeneration of new skin cells, increases collagen levels that help to firm and smooth the skin and improve the skin’s radiance. Containing calcium, protein and vitamins and a very high source of amino acid, Pearl Powder helps to speed healing, enhance elasticity and help maintain luminosity.

Its antimicrobial properties are also known to help remove blotches, acne, acne scarring, dry patches and rosacea as well as address sun damage.  Pearl powder is renowned for brightening and lightening the skin.

Best used as a face mask: Add a portion (spatula provided for measuring purposes) to a spoonful of organic probiotic-rich yoghurt. Apply to the skin and leave on for 10 minutes. Gently wash off with warm water.

The non-dairy alternative is to add a portion to dairy-free yoghurt (coconut based) and add a drop of fresh lemon juice. Alternatively add a 1/4 teaspoon to a dropper full of face oil to form a paste. Apply to the skin and leave on for 10 minutes. Gently wash off with warm water.

Internally, add a quarter teaspoon to a glass of water, fresh juice or smoothie.

I really am amazed every time I use this pearl powder as a 'facial' treat. My personal preference is to mix it with a little of the Moroccan Natural Argan Rose Geranium Serum as an intensive brightening treatment. Especially helpful if I've had late nights or been on overseas flights which both leave my skin looking a little drab. It certainly helps improve the look, feel and condition of my skin. Whilst I don't have acne, I repeatedly hear incredible feedback from customers who use this in conjunction with the Moroccan Natural Argan Glow face oil to help improve their skin, even cases of really bad acne scars that have been mistreated with harsh synthetic skin peels. But what I also love to do with this Pearl Powder is add a 1/4 teaspoon to my smoothie. If it's good enough for Cleopatra, it's good enough for me.
