Plumping and replenishing Prickly Pear Oil, also known as Barbary fig seed oil, is a coveted carrier that hails from deep in the hot desert. It has been used for centuries by Berber women and desert peoples to soothe parched skin that’s been damaged by harsh desert winds and an unforgiving sun. Cold pressed from the Prickly Pear cactus seed, this luxurious oil is nourishing, hydrating, and fortifying to skin in need of an oasis.

It takes a million seeds and several days of cold pressing to make 1 litre (4 cups) of this scent-free, super sustainable oil from Morocco. Rich in natural cactus compounds, vital vitamins C and E, antioxidants, and lovely polyunsaturated fatty acids, Prickly Pear Oil soothes arid and irritated skin and softens scars. It sutures and pacifies skin that has been overexposed to the elements or simply exposed to the years. It is as hydrating and refreshing as an oasis in the desert, and it absorbs smoothly so skin is soft and supple. This luxurious oil is practically scent-free, which makes it an ideal for the super-scent-sensitive and for perfume mix-masters who want to create long-lasting perfumed potions for the skin and hair.

Can be applied on it's own as a moisturiser. Alternatively add your favourite essential oils to this carrier oil to create a personal scented serum.

Prickly Pear Seed Oil is one of my favourite oils for the face. It's very gently, incredibly hydrating and divine for bringing about visible results for an improved complexion. What I love about these Living Libations carrier oils is that they can be used on their own (for super sensitive skins) or they can be used as a base for adding a couple of drops of essential oils.
